1102: Duchy of Westphalia separated from Saxony, in personal union with the Electorate of Cologne

1803: Partitioned between Lippe and Hesse-Darmstadt

1807: Napoleon creates the Kingdom of Westphalia from Hanover, Hesse-Kassel, and Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. The kingdom actually doesn't include the former duchy, which is controlled by Hesse-Darmstadt

1813: Kingdom disestablished and its territory split between Hanover, Brunswick, Hesse-Kassel, and Prussia
