1812: 75% of the population dies in a boating accident, Tommaso Corri is the sole remaining inhabitant

1816: Annexed by Britain (subordinated to Cape Colony)

1938: Made a dependency of St. Helena

1961-1963: Entire population evacuated due to volcanic eruption

2009: Separated from St. Helena
