Note: Taiwan is claimed by China, and Taiwan claims all of China as well. Taiwan is only recognized by 12 countries, though most of the rest of the world maintains unofficial relations. Taiwan was mostly recognized until the 1970s, when most countries adopted a "One China" policy and recognized only the mainland government.
