1564: County of Reuss split into Reuss-Gera, Reuss-Schleiz, and Reuss-Burgk

1673: Lord elevated to Count

1802: Reuss-Schleiz inherits Gera and takes the name (though Schleiz is still sometimes used)

1806: Count becomes Prince when the Holy Roman Empire is dissolved

1807-1813: Part of the Confederation of the Rhine

1848: Absorbs Reuss-Ebersdorf, from this point the name "Reuss Younger Line" begins to be used

1871: State of the German Empire
