Chronology

1886: Sultan of Bambao Said Ali bin Said unites the 11 sultanates of Ngazidja (Grande Comore) island, and later accepts French vassalage

1892: France takes over the island and exiles the sultan, making Ngazidja part of the Comoros. Said Ali continues to claim the throne until 1910.
