Puffin (1929-1933)
Note: Harman's puffin and half-puffin tokens were nominally equal to the British penny and half-penny. The issuance of pivate tokens meant to be used as money was illegal in Britain since 1817, and Harman was brought to court in Devon and was fined £15 and 15 shillings. Harman appealed the decision to the High Court of Justice but the appeal was rejected, and in 1931, the Lundy puffin coins were withdrawn from circulation, however, Harman's stamps denominated in puffins were not, and are still issued and used in Lundy to the present.
