Note: Not to be confused with the modern federal state of Lower Austria. The Duchy included "Austria Proper", the original core lands of the Austrian Margraviate, corresponding to modern Upper Austria, Lower Austria, and Vienna, as well as the County of Schaunberg from 1380 on.

Chronology

1379: Austria is partitioned into Lower Austria under the Albertinian line of the Habsburgs, and Inner-Further Austria under the Leopoldinians.

1437-1439: In personal union with Bohemia and Hungary

1457: Absorbed into the Archduchy of Inner Austria with the extinction of the Albertinians
