Chronology
1815: Lombardy-Venetia created in the aftermath of the Napoleonic wars from the former territory of Milan and Venice, and placed under the Austrian Empire
1848-1849: Anti-Austrian revolt, both regions declare independence briefly
1859: Franco-Sardinian force occupies Lombardy, which is then ceded to France by Austria, who then immediately gives it to Sardinia
1866: Venetia ceded to Italy, ending the kingdom
