Kingdom of Swaziland (1760-2018), Kingdom of eSwatini (2018-present)
Independent Kingdom (1760-1902, 1968-present), British Protectorate (1902-1968)
Location: Southern Africa
Capital Cities: Enkanini (1760-1890), Manzini (1890-1902), Mbabane (1902-present), Lobamba (1967-present)
Government type: Absolute Diarchy/Monarchy
Main languages: Swazi, English
Main religions: Protestant Christianity, Catholic Christianity, Syncretic Christianity
Note: eSwatini could be considered either a diarchy or a monarchy. There are two royal heads of state, the King (Ngwenyama) and the Queen Mother (Ndlovukati), who rule together. The relative authority of each has changed over the country's history, and tiNdlovukati have been particularly strong in periods of regency, but at present, the Ndlovukati has little actual power and more serves a cultural and spiritual role, so whether we count the Ndlovukati as a monarch on par with the Ngwenyama, the country could be counted as either a monarchy with just one ruler, or as diarchy with two jointy-ruling monarchs.
