1887: France unites the three protectorates of Anjouan, Moheli, and Mayotte into one territory
1892: Comoros united with French takeover of Ngazidja (Grande-Comore)

1975: Independence (except Mayotte, which chooses to stay with France)
1978: Coup by Said Attoumani and French mercenary Bob Denard overthrows socialist government
