Note: From 1701 to 1714, following the death of King Carlos II, the Spanish throne was disputed between the Bourbon Duke Philippe of Anjou and the Habsburg Arduke Karl. Catalonia was fully controlled by the Habsburg claimant from 1705-1714, and the Catalonian Generalitat recognized him as king, with the regnal name of Carlos III.
